Project Description
Hiller Carbon is an international supplier of specialty manufactured carbon products across the steel, foundry, refractory, industrial and chemical sectors.
With facilities across the US, it only makes sense for supply chain to have a location in southeast Texas near Baytown. After securing a 50 acre rail served site it was time to plan out the logistics of its newest plant.
Engaged for our vast expertise on large material handling projects, the HASI team was able to take the Owner’s GA’s and make strategic adjustments to deliver a well-arranged site. The extensive program consisted of a 4,000sf control room, 24,000sf material packaging building, 8,000sf supersack building, 7,000sf of covered rail loadout, 2,500sf of covered truck loadout with scale, nine rails silos, two 1,000 ton silos, two 500 ton silos, two material screening structures, two material mills, 100’ underground conveyor tunnel, multiple bucket elevators and conveyors, rail yard and truck circulation.
